In the anarchic town of Seaside, nowhere near the sea, puppeteers Judy and Punch are trying to resurrect their marionette show. The show is a hit due to Judy’s superior puppeteering, but Punch’s driving ambition and penchant for whisky lead to an inevitable tragedy that Judy must avenge.

One of the best reviewed films of the year and winner of the coveted Best Screenplay and Queer Palm awards at the Cannes Film Festival, PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE is an intimate and deeply affecting period drama about freedom, love and desire. Marianne is commissioned to do the wedding portrait of Héloïse – a reluctant bride to be. Intimacy grows between the women as they share Héloïse’s first and last moments of freedom.

This new film from Academy Award®-winner Aaron Sorkin is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged with conspiracy after the counter-cultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The story is set in the ’60s, but speaks to the divisiveness of our times and how young people can take power and change the world.
